The B1

applications originating from India.Furthermore, each entry during the validity
period of this permit cannot extend beyond 6 months in a year at a time. The
allowed tenure of stay per visit is however, decided, at the time of entry of
the travelers, by the immigration official at the port of entry. In certain cases, the permit holders can
obtain an extension of another 6 months, provided they can furnish necessary
reasons for obtaining such an extension.
The B1
Visa Application does not allow the applicants to include their
dependent family members in the request; the dependents if traveling with the
permit holders in this category must obtain a B2 permit.
The process of obtaining B1
Visa starts with applicants placing a DS-160 forms, which are generally
filed online. The DS - 160forms require the applicants to provide all the
required information and details. The system, after accepting the forms, grants
unique number to each of the applicants which must be stored and used for later
communications. The request submission process is followed by submission of
appropriate charges for request processing. To initiate this process, the
applicants must create a profile on the US visa services web portal and then
submit the requisite fee. After the submission of the fee at the designated counter,
the applicants can go ahead with the booking 2 appointments, i.e. the first
appointment is granted for biometric process in which the applicants need to
appear at the designated office and give their biometric details. The second
appointment is granted for a personal meeting and examination by an official at
the US consulate.
The officials at the
consulate after screening the applicants and evaluate the requests, grant entry
permits to the qualifying applicants if everything is found in order. On the
day of interview, the applicants are required to carry certain important
documents and supporting.
